EVALUATION
Overall, this unit was a challenging for me due to personal reasons. I can openly say that I had a wonderful time in rebranding myself not only animation wise but also artistically. This unit allowed me to use all my creative talent and include them all under one umbrella. Before I had stemmed into becoming an animator, I started off as a concept artist who enjoyed designing anything I could potentially imagined in the most creative way I knew possible. Subsequently, it was a shame that my health did get in the way of my achieving goals and targets I had set for myself in this final unit. In working with what I could manage, I ensured that I applied myself as much as I could in the final unit. It does feel like a bittersweet goodbye for me because university was the driving force that taught me to become a less socially anxious towards other people. This unit was a fantastic way to bond better with my peers, especially when going on studio visits or an industry related event. I have learnt so much about myself through this unit and become more self-aware of what sort of animator I wanted to be at the time. I am proud to say that even during the times I was sick, I manage to set up a substantial amount of work that to a completed state, which lessened the stress and anxiety I had towards falling completely behind in my work. This unit was extremely flexible with my outside endeavours and allowed me to properly accommodate effectively to my health when needed to. During this unit, there are a couple of things I believe I could have done better. The first one would be the organisation of the materials I had needed for my blog. I found it a little difficult to locate materials I had needed for my blog. Another one would be to spend less time being a perfectionist and spend more time on being an effective animator. I realised that after finishing the polish stages of my animation I became my own toxic inner critique. This resulted in me spending a ridiculous amount of time on specific scenes in an animation, which prevented me from staying in control of the time I needed for each of my portfolio animations. I would like to thank the whole of the animation tutors for their patience, support, and amazing constructive feedback throughout these last three years. Thankyou for giving me an opportunity to reach the finish line that I did not see attainable a couple of weeks ago. Thankyou for all the studio visits, studio talks and industry events that I was able to attend in these final 6-7 months. It has been an amazing, bittersweet journey and I love every part of it.
