PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • To begin with, my project management was difficult. During the planning stages of my FMP, I had constructed a personal timetable for all the areas I needed to cover for this unit. Unfortunately, my project management began to crumble in the initial stages of my FMP process because I had to deal with personal issues outside of university. This resulted in me having to priorities my health more so than my actual FMP schedule. This meant that I had to make a pivotal adjustment to my project management. Mid process, I decided at one point to put a slight pause on my blog work. The reason for this was so that I could priorities the practical side of my FMP. One thing I can agree on is that I managed to get the portfolio side of the unit to a finished state which allowed me to sort out any issues I had outside the course. This also allowed me to have more time to priorities the blocking stage of my animation. I realised that coming towards the later stages of my FMP, I had to make dramatic changes to my idea. This consisted of making cuts to specific scenes that had originally been included in my animation. One of these scenes that I needed to cut out completely, were all the shots that took place in my theatre environment. I believed that these shots would have increased the time consumption I had left to do the entire animation. After making this decision I realised I had regained control over my project which increased my management. In the final two weeks of my project, I managed to polish my FMP animation to the best of my ability.
